Results

This Project will positively impact the Brcko Police capacity to meet standards in the law enforcement sector, including its capacity to process evidence, support investigation, provide support to victims and witnesses… It will also contribute to better cooperation between the different law enforcement agencies, as the new building will also host the Boarder Police and the Service for Foreigners Affairs. Overall, this project contributes to higher standards in law enforcement and a stronger Rule of Law in Brcko District. Finally, the building will be environmentally friendly, which ensures lower energy costs on the long run.

SUMMARY

The European Union is funding the finalisation of the new Brcko District Police Headquarters, which is currently being constructed. The Project is broken down into four phases: • Design of the building structure and issuing of construction permits; • Selection of the Contractor and Construction Supervision Body; • Execution of construction works; • Closing of the project. UNDP is the implementing partner. Most of the concrete structural work has been completed, and the project completion should take place by the end of 2015.
