SUMMARY

The project objective was to ensure that Bosnia and Herzegovina's public, civil society and government actors remained supportive of BiH entering the European Union. The project was designed to create a dialogue and debate to facilitate the country's progress towards EU membership. It accomplished a broad range of activities supporting this aim such as Public awareness campaigns targeted mainly at the BiH general public, media and other information multipliers such as NGOs, and local communities. The project also provided assistance to the European Integration Promotion Department of the BiH Directorate of European Integration for its communication and information capacity building needs. The second component of the project provided a grassroots service tailored to local needs in order to enable local public to obtain information, advice, assistance and answers to questions about European Union’s legislation, policies, programmes, grant schemes and funding opportunities. This service was provided through the EU Info-Centres in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar, Tuzla and Brcko till mid 2013. In 2014, with additional EU funds a new EU info Centre was establihed in Sarajevo and replaced all previously functionning EU Info Centres. The aim of the current EU Info Centre is to continue providing EU awarmess raising and information services for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

RESULTS

The project resulted in raising the awarness of the EU policies, integration process and financial assistance across the entire country. Communication and information capacities of the Directorate for European Integration was strengthened. EU Info Centres functioned till 2013 in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar, Tuzla and Brcko.
