To enhance the integration of the markets of BiH with those of the EU through further development of Quality Infrastructure in line with the provisions of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, and to create an enabling environment for the BiH industries and manufacturers to improve their trade and industrial relations with the EU and international markets. Establishing the conditions for future international recognition of BiH tests, calibration results, and certification and preparing the BiH Accreditation Institute for signing multilateral agreements with European co-operation for Accreditation.

The project provided direct support to the Institute for Accreditation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in development of new credible and internationally recognisable schemes in the area of accreditation of medical laboratories, product certification, quality and environment management systems certification, personnel certification, lift inspection bodies, as well as training personnel for their implementation, and improvement of BATA´s information system and web site. Furthmore, the project ensured participation of BiH calibration, testing and medical laboratories in several important proficiency testing schemes. The intervention in this area also establish the conditions for future international recognition of tests and calibration results, as well as certificates and prepared BiH Accreditation Institute for signing multilateral agreement with European co-operation for Accreditation.
