SUMMARY

Integrated border management includes coordination and cooperation between all relevant services and agencies taking part in border supervision and border control, in order to build functional, effective and integrated systems of border management with a common goal of creating open, but controlled and safe borders. Efficient border management and real border safety are of crucial importance to the region and Europe as a whole. The European Union has committed itself to co-operate and work with all the countries in the region in order to establish open but controlled borders. This is an important element of the Stabilization and Association Process (SAP) which leads the countries of the region toward European Union integration.

RESULTS

Better strategic and technical understanding of EU standards and good practices in terms of Integrated Border Management
