Results

Implementation of this project resulted in: - Improved capacity of national and municipal institutions and services dealing with protection and rescue; - Population and local authorities in the cross-border area and target municipalities familiarised with preventive actions against fires, protection and rescue and DRR; - Improved cross-border cooperation between institutions and services in charge of protection and rescue from BiH and Montenegro; - Improved capacity of the voluntary fire fighting associations from target municipalities and their work and importance for protection of local communities promoted.

SUMMARY

Overall objective of the project is to reduce the vulnerability of BiH and Montenegro to natural disasters and preserve the environment and natural resources through cross-border cooperation in the area of disaster risk reduction (DRR) and implementation of a joint program for reduction of open space fires. Specific objective is to improve the capacity of the cross-border area to deal with open space fires through cross-border cooperation, joint capacity building and awareness raising campaign.
