The project aimed at improvement of the capacities of social inclusion and health care of the mental health (MH) systems in Serbia and BiH through a cross-border exchange of experiences. This exchange is oriented toward promotion of new models of public participation, activation of new community-based services, and the capacity building of the actors in MH systems. Its specific objective is (1) to improve the public participation to decision making processes in MH field and to reduce the stigma toward people with mental diseases, (2) to activate new community-based services in MH field, as result of the exchange of good practices between Valjevo and Tuzl, (3) to educate the main segments in MH systems of the societies in Valjevo and Tuzla (health and social operators, public institutions, civil society, media) to the main aspects of mental health care in community in line with the EU standards.

R1. Public participation in MH field has been improved, with the inclusion of youth too; R2. Participatory approaches has been experimented in decision making processes; R3. The civil societies in Serbia and BiH has been sensitized to the topic of social exclusion of people with mental diseases; R4. New services in social protection of MH has been established in Valjevo (Users' Association); R5. New services in social protection of MH has been established in Tuzla (home care visits); R6. The quality of life for the psychiatric patients in Valjevo and Tuzla has been improved; R7. MH operators from both sides of the border has been trained in the work inclusion for people with mental diseases; R8. The exchange of experiences in the field of work inclusion has been realized; R9. The topic of Work inclusion for people with mental diseases has been studied.
