Summary
The goal of the project is to ensure basis for closer integration between BiH, region states and the EU in the transport sector, also contributing to connectivity agenda priorities, as well as the predictability of developments in the transport sector. In addition to the above goal, Transport System shall be developed in a manner to contribute to accelerated, sustainable and balanced economic growth, provide conditions for competitive, efficient and demand responsive services, a framework for sustainable financing and maintenance of public infrastructure, conditions for poverty reduction, equity and affordability, basis for improving quality of life, safety and environmental protection, and be a basis for efficient, effective and responsive decision making process of the public administration. The objective of this assignment is to deliver coherent, consistent realistic, achievable and development oriented draft strategy documents, including prioritised action plans at State and Entity levels and Brčko District, and all for the Transport Sector, and each of the sub-sectors for each of the levels of political subdivision.
Results
Implementation of this project will result in: - Updated transport strategies at the level of BiH, the Entities and the Brčko District, which will define transport sector development up to the year 2035; - Sub-sector strategies – road, railway, maritime and waterway and multimodal transport development up to the year 2035, - Action plans developed at five-year intervals with clearly defined tasks, implementers, sources of financing, etc.
