The ongoing project aims to strengthen technical, administrative and IPA-compliant programming capacities of the institutions involved in environmental management in BiH, to ensure the implementation of soft and infrastructure measures to achieve EU environmental standards.

• Result 1: Better understanding of the EU Environmental Approximation and EU Accession Process amongst the officials from the competent institutions in BiH. • Result 2:. BiH Environmental Approximation Strategy with implementing measures for the EU Acquis is prepared. • Result 3: Directive Specific Implementation Plans for four selected EU Directives with implementing measures for the Entities/Brcko District prepared. • Result 4: Environmental policy documents at the Enities/BD and BiH level prepared. • Result 5: Clear allocation of National Focal Points in BiH for environmental treaties. Improved implementation of international environmental agreements. • Result 6: The organisation of the national environmental monitoring and information system is more effective. Increased environmental reporting, awareness and improved information dissemination and public participation. • Result 7: Enhanced capacities of BiH authorities in project preparation, appraisal and investment planning to facilitate BiH access to IPA funds and to facilitate co-financing and coordination with other donors/ IFI activities. • Result 8: A project pipeline is prepared and one demonstration project prepared for co-funding between RS, FBiH, Brcko District and Cantonal Ministries.
