The project supports development of institutional capacities in the area of competition and state aid, thus improving the functionality of BiH institutions through strengthening the ability of BiH authorities to set and manage effective competition and state aid policy.

The aim of the current project is to contribute to the further development of the Competition Council to become fully able to fulfil its mandate and to provide initial support to the State Aid Council. Therefore, the key activities regarding Competition Council are to: support the legal approximation, to perform specialised trainings, support the implementation of the legislation, transfer knowledge and experience in market analysis preparation, train CC staff in case investigations, assist in increasing cooperation between CC and sector regulators, and support the competition advocacy. Technical assistance activities for the State Aid Council are focused on basic trainings on state aid principles, notification procedures, support for development of Inventory and re-alignment of current state aid measures and legislative changes needed due to recent developments in the EU State Aid Policy.
