SUMMARY

Overall: To contribute to reaching mandatory EU environmental targets by B&H energy sector, via full implementation of legally binding B&H' obligations to increase energy efficiency (EE) &use of renewable energies (RE) emphasising solar, and active public participation in environmental decision making; Specific: EFECT Coalition credibly representing rights &interests of citizens to significant reduction of environmental impact of energy production &consumption, has opened constructive, lasting and institutional public dialogue with state, entity, cantonal &city/municipal governments, urging for their full engagement in integrating environmental concerns within the energy sector

RESULTS

1. Strengthened accountability, capacity and strategic orientation of EFECT Coalition for public-policy dialogue proactively placing urgent need for environmental improvement by replacing fossil fuels with increased EE &RE/solar growth, on local, cantonal, entity and state decision-making agenda; 2. Increased public awareness on legally-binding international and national environmental commitments of B&H energy sector, supportiveness to and recognition of EFECT Coalition's efforts to credibly and legitimately represent relevant citizens' concerns; 3. Cantonal and city/municipal authorities in target area increasingly aware of win-win remedies to energy-related environmental pressures and committed to respond to citizens' concerns by enforcing implementation of environmental and EE&REs reforms with extensive use of abundant solar energy; 4. National, entity, cantonal and city/municipal energy & environment decision makers and institutions increasingly engage in open and constructive institutional dialogue with EFECT Coalition, and demonstrate their acceptance of the latter as authentic and resourceful constituent of the public
