Results

During the 18 months of implementation the project provided 6 intensive expert training sessions for the selected farmers and the establishment of 30 experimental/pilot raspberry plantations in the target municipalities, 10 of which will serve as examples of good practice for the further transfer of knowledge and experience in this sector. The intensified cross-border co-operation amongst the farmers expanded to other areas, such as beekeeping, and further strengthened the links amongst the communities of Sokolac and Arilje. The two municipalities signed a memorandum on co-operation.

SUMMARY

Aiming to respond to the identified insufficient implementation of modern technologies in the production of berrylike fruit and insufficient familiarity of the farmers with the application of good practice such as in the EU countries, this project seeks to stimulate the development of intensive and ecologically acceptable berry farming along with reviving the cross-border people-to-people connections through the exchange of know-how.
