Summary
The establishment of a Gender Equality Facility (GEF) in Bosnia and Herzegovina aims at strengthening the effective implementation of domestic and international legal frameworks concerning gender equality and women’s rights. Furthermore, GEF will support the country in correctly aligning with the EU Gender Equality acquis in a pre-accession perspective.
Results
Implementation of this project will result in: - Improved role and better functioning of gender equality structures and mechanisms in the country. - Strengthening of the Agency for Gender Equality (AGE) and the enhancement of the capacities of gender equality bodies and mechanisms for implementing and monitoring policies at state and entity level. - Improved fulfilment of domestic provisions on gender equality, to increase the capacity for effectively absorbing the EU legislation on gender equality, and to provide a clear opportunity for regional cooperation and exchange.
